When you think about which carrier has the best 5G network, it can be a little tricky to navigate through all the jargon and lingo used by the various brands to describe their best-in-class products, especially when some of the wording used is perhaps a little optimistic. If reliability is the main characteristic you consider when trying to determine the best 5G network, then T-Mobile is the carrier with the most reliable 5G network in the US, ahead of both Verizon and AT&T in the latest 5G umlaut Audit Report.

The umlaut Audit Report shows T-Mobile as having the highest overall 5G umlaut Score with 710 points out of a maximum of 1000, with Verizon on 599, and AT&T on 569. Reliability is an area that T-Mobile is strong in, scoring 630 out of 800 points, with Verizon and AT&T in second and third spots with 492 and 479 points respectively.

The umlaut 5G Audit Report was conducted from September 2020 through until February 2021 and is based on 35 million samples collected from more than 1,300 data collecting applications and 55,000 users capable of 5G connectivity.

The 5G umlaut Score shows the overall 5G user experience in the categories Coverage, Speed, and Latency. For 5G Reliability, the relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) in 5G Coverage and 5G Speed were taken into account: The 5G Coverage Reach – showing in which part of the overall footprint 5G was seen; the 5G Connection Share – showing how many of a 5G user’s data speed samples included 5G; the DL Speed – showing how many speed samples are good for supporting popular services like basic internet, HD Video, and UHD Video.

Does this tally with your 5G experience with T-Mobile as your provider?
