It’s been a while since Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon Wear 4100 platform at the tail-end of June, with both Mobvoi and Imoo promising to be the first to launch smartwatches using the new processor. While we are still waiting for news on Imoo’s Z6 Ultra offering, it seems that Mobvoi’s TicWatch 3 Pro could launch on September 24th.
According to an Amazon UK listing found by Reddit users (via Droid-Life) that has since been altered to display a generic image and a different price tag, the Snapdragon Wear 4100-powered TicWatch Pro 3 is expected to arrive by October 1st with a £299 (~$399) price tag. This makes it a tad more expensive than the TicWatch Pro 2020 that is priced at $260 in the US.
There wasn’t much detail on the TicWatch Pro 3’s specifications other than its dimensions of 45.1 x 45.1 x 12.6mm, which is pretty similar to previous models.
While the Amazon listing said to expect the TicWatch Pro 3 by October 1st, a since-deleted tweet by Mobvoi said it would be released in a matter of weeks, with the date of September 24th being bandied about. Either way, Wear OS could soon receive the hardware boost it’s needed since before the Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform was announced back in 2018.
